Last Birthday Celebration!

We celebrated Lucas's Birthday on the 16th and the 23rd of May, but you have to celebrate his birthday on the designated day, especially when he is turning one. On the 24th of May Lucas acutal Birthday, mother-nature gave him a gift... snow! It snowed, and not just a sprinkle, but real snow. Enough snow that it was causing problems in the Salt Lake area, though we did not get too much our way! We went to dinner and of course had more cake that Lucas did enjoy, though he was still feeling a little under the weather.

More Birthday Pictures

For some reason I couldn't up load all of the pictures I wanted to so here are a lot more, birthday pictures!

Another Birthday Celebration!

We Celebrated Lucas's Birthday on the 23rd of May! We ended up inviting everyone and then some! It was a big to-do! Kenzie and I made him a cake. It was a barn cake with animal cupcakes. It turned out pretty well, though it wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be! We web-cammed Craig since he couldn't be there! Unfortunately Lucas wasn't feeling well, was a little fussy throughout the party and didn't really get into his cupcake!

First summer trip to Utah!

From May 17th to June 23rd, Lucas and I abandoned Craig and headed to Utah. My really good friend was getting married and the grandmas and grandpas were missing Lucas. We went everywhere and saw a big part of Utah, from Logan to Spanish Fork and several places between! Aunt Kenzie taught him how to high-five and on the 21st of June he learned to wave good-bye. He is not consistent, but he does it now and then. It was lots of fun and Lucas was excellent through it all! Here are some pictures taken during our trip!

Picture #1 - We are boarding the plane to head to Utah and all I can say is I love pre-boarding it is so nice and makes flying a little easier and lets other passengers know what their getting into if they sit next to us! Though Lucas is wonderful when flying and we have not had any big issues, besides changing his diaper multiple times during the trip!

Picture #2 - Grandma Les has a toy car, Lucas loved being pushed around in it, when he wasn't trying to open the car door to escape.

Picture #3 - Since I was involved in my friend's wedding and also attended another wedding of an old family friend, Lucas was left at various times to bond with his grandparents! It is a good thing they love him!

Picture #4 - A baby taking a bath is pretty cute, but two babies take a bath together priceless!

Picture #5 - Lucas's head measures off of the charts! His height and weight are about average though, which is kinda of surprising. So with that in mind, his hat that we bought last summer (which was a 12 month size) did not fit. Grandma found him a new hat. He looks pretty darn cute in it, when he leaves it on! It's his Crocodile Dundee hat!

We had animal cupcakes, we let Lucas chose which flavor of cake he wanted, he picked chocolate! Smart Man! He loved the cupcake and smothered it everywhere! Here are picture from that.

Barbecue

We went to a ward members house for a barbecue last Friday. Lucas had a blast he loved the fruit salad and hamburger! He also liked swinging in the hammock and drinking from one of our ward members cups, obviously he thinks he is too good for his sippy cup. He was the entertainment for the evening.

update!

It has been a couple of weeks since we have blogged. So I thought I would give a quick update on Lucas. In the last couple of weeks Lucas has started pointing, it is not consistent, but he does get that little pointer finger sticking out, were not sure half of the time what he is pointing as, but he is pointing. Sometime in the last week of April, we were outside and there were some kids down the road playing with a ball, I could have swore that Lucas pointed at the balls and said "ball". Yesterday the 5th of May, he was playing with his blocks and he said, "block". We are also pretty sure he knows "dada". The other day he pointed at his daddy and said, "dada". We have also notice that he doesn't say, "dada" as much if Craig is not there. Lucas is quickly gaining his independence, he doesn't like being removed if he is getting into something he isn't suppose to be in. If you do something that he doesn't like, or he is not getting something that he wants, he is quick to tell you, he gets this tone and lets you have it, you know he is scolding you, though you don't know what he is saying.
